Hi there, Sorry to be the millionth person to post something such as this, but I've looked under every stone on the net and can find nothing what so ever about this watch, not a single reference. It was my Dads watch which I just dug it out of the loft, and it worked perfectly on first wind up in 20 years! I'm looking for as much info as possible if anybody has the time to help as I can't find a single reference to it on the net... The watch is marked as 9ct, it's about the size of a 2.00 coin and has a fair weight to it. The front has "Limit III" on the top, and "Swiss Made" on the bottom. The second hand cronograph hand (as I call it) seems to be almost perpetual; it certainly seems to have around 2-4 ticks/increments per second. I'm about to get it totally refurbished and serviced for sentimental reasons and would be particularly interested in the quality of the mechanism and all history surrounding it as well as an impression on relative quality level in respect of other watches of this period. Very best regards, Alan. Here is a picture (which makes it look rougher than it is!):

Generally speaking if you can't find reference to a brand on the internet, it's an obscure make. "Limit III" might have a jewelry store, a fashion brand, etc that decided to put it's name on the dial. You seem to have a UK market case with Swiss inards. If you can get a shot of the inside, I can guess as to quality, but I'd be surprised if it's something high grade. |

Zaf, thank you for taking the time to help.. On opening it, the mechanism says "Swiss Made", "16 Jewels" and is spotlessly clean. The image was taken on a flatbed scanner so not the best; any blur is because the watch was going, and the colour is all silver. I've managed to adjust the time at room temperature using the "F-S" adjustment lever so it keeps <1 second/day accuracy. Cool. (Picture attached) The inside of the case back says: "Dennison" "Made in England" with a few serial numbers and such like. Although marked 9ct gold, the outer case itself is very light indeed as you can see where it's been "shaved out"; all the weight is solid mechanism! (Picture attached)

I think you have a pretty good idea of what your watch would sell for at a dealer. You have a Britsh market piece, in a shape and 9k gold that was not uncommon for the era. Your piece as more of a "generic" name will be worth less than Cyma, Vertex, etc. whic aren't household names, but at least I recognize them. |
