My Dad brought this Movado watch from Cuba in 1960. It has been in a bank vault for 50 years. I took it out 2 weeks ago and it worked for a week, then stopped. It has the day of the week and month dislays in Spanish. I would like to know it's value to decide whether to have it repaired at the Movado Repair Ctr in NJ. It is Rose Gold over a stainless steel base. The movement is accessed by removing the face. |

Hello again, I haven't gotten any responses concerning the 1950's Movado. Is there a website that I can access to establish a watch's estimated value? |

It worth something along the lines of $800-1200. |

Thanks Zaf. The watch is already at the Movado (MGI) Moonachie NJ facility. They want $405 for the Vintage Movement Service, $87 to replace the crystal w/ a substitute and a new Zenith Starp for anothe $63.50. W/ tax and shipping, we are talking $610.92!!! They purportedly have a watch expert that handles ONLY vintage Movados. To a laymen, the whole thing is quite dawnting! I do have an all gold Omega "Automatic" maybe 1952 that winds by motion. It needs a cleaning and I'll probably send it to you after I digest the expense realted to the MGI adventure. I'll send you a photo later! Thanks again! George |

Just decline the crystal & strap. The service cost itself isn't crazy. |
