Along the same line of question as the Lord Benex, I inherited a wire lug Union Horlogere from my Great Grandmother. It's solid gold with a beautiful enamel face and is in perfect condition. I have been able to find the registered trademark from around 1912, but that is all. Someone told me that they thought that Union Horlogere was a swiss watchmakers school. Do you have any other info? Thanks, Charlie Kilgore |

Jeez...you guys really ask the tough ones. I have a fair amount of reference material and did not find any specific mention of "Union Horlogere" in any of them. If both the case & dial are unsigned, given the name on the dial, I think your assumption that it is from a watchmakers school is a good one. Personally I like old prototypes & watchmakers school pieces. They're often bolder in design and pleasant to look at. Zaf |

What I meant to say if both the case and MOVEMENT are unsigned, it is likely a watchmaker school piece. |

Union Horlogere made low cost Pocket watches. generally about 1900-1925. Not exact dates. Mine is a 6 jewel, 80% silver semi-fancy open face (Railroad type) case Set by first pushing in a button next to main stem, then turn crown. Obsolete cylinder escapment with Uncompensated balance (simple ring balance wheel). Seen one on a good Pocket watch collector page. They are about $80. |

I also have a union horlogere pocket watch that I can find no info on. On the face it has gold dots for the minute marks. then a pink circle that encompasses the numbers. There is a christmas wreath around the minutes an hour hands. The minute an hour hand are very fancy. The second dial is located between the 5 an 7 on the bottom. On the back cover it has vines with 3 flowers. When you open the back cover it has GALONNE at the top. the bottom has 172,[either 66 or 2 backward three's?]. On the left center it has 2 rectangles[ large on top an smaller below attached. The top is 0.800, the bottom shows EP. ON THE RIGHT CENTER IT HAS A HALF MOON WITH A CROWN ATTACHED. Then on the cover for the movements it says CYLINGRE 10 RUBLES. Does anyone have any history on this watch? Maybe a value? |
