Hello Dear!
I purchased this what is called "vintage Blancpain lady's watch" from 1920's. What confuses me is how BIG the watch is compared to all other lady's watch from the similar time period. Could this watch be actually more modern than it is claimed? I will post picture of the movement next.

I think late 1920s is accurate. Blancpain was not a "high end" brand as it is today back then.

Thanks Zaf. Could you educate us on how Blancpain became "high end"? Did the company discover some magical movements that made their watch all the sudden a class higher? If so what year is that approximately?

Also, does that mean buying a 1920 watch with Balcpain name really isn't buying a high-end watch, as their quality of movement back then does not compare to Omega and likes?

I think a good comparison of Blancpain back in the 1920s would be a brand like Doxa, Eterna, etc, one notch below say Longines or Omega.

Blancpain for all intents and purposes died during the quartz revoultion in the early 1970s and was revived as a luxury brand in the early 1980s.

How fun, so 1920'a Blancpain is not even as highly ranked as Wittnauer then??

I love picking on your brain Zaf!

It's about the same in terms of quality, but in terms of value, the BlancPain name and it's present 'luxury' image will make it more valuable than a Wittnauer.
