Lynn:

That's a tough one. My guess is that you can't find any information about "Lord Benex" as there is probably not any information to be found. During the pre-quartz era and before some substantial consolidation in the Swiss watch industry, there where THOUSANDS of Swiss brands of which I suspect this is one. This is not to say that this is a bad watch, just that it is one of hundreds/thousands lesser known Swiss name plates that are now gone.

I think the same comments apply as the Lord Benex. Sounds like one of many thousands of Swiss name plates that may possibly be gone today. In terms of worth, gold plate/steel Swiss auto would be worth $100-125 retail.

I recently found an old watch that belonged to my grandmother, I believe it dates from around the 1930's, maybe 40's, it looks to be stainless steel, possibly silver with tiny diamond looking stones, the band is black cord, the only words on the watch are "Kent" and "Swiss", is this another generic swiss watch? I was just curious so any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it sounds "generic" to me. Maybe "miscellaneous swiss" would be a better name for these.

The Marvin will be of low value unless it is complicated (like a chronograph, moonphase, etc). I don't know about the other brand, sorry.

I have a ABRA pocket watch it is silver. on the inside it says 6 jewel 2 adjustment. Would like to know the value and age. It was my fathers so I am guessing its somewhere between 1913 and 1978.

Impossible to say how old it is without a photo. Typically, something that has a movement that only has 6 jewels will be of low commerical value.

I don't tink you'll find much. It is more known as a movement manufacturer than a watch manufacturer.

Hi I have a Borel & Courvoisier pocket watch SN on all lids and movement match.Roman numeral face with depressed second hand dial {the hand is missing}. The case is 18K, but the front lid has been worn thin and repaired with silver solder. This was done during the depression because of no money to repair it properly. Whats its antique or gold value? and should it be repaired? Jim.

Hello,

I was hoping to get some information on a Felca watch that has been passed onto me within the family.
This is all the info I have.
It says Felca one the face between the 12 and the dial centre, with 17 jewels written beneath it.
Between the dial centre and the 6 it says INCABLOC with FERROTEX underneath.
The numbers shown are 3, 6, 9 and 12 in what looks like an art deco font.
The face and dials look gold, with the second hand a large arrow.
On the rear the brand appears large in the centre with 24.6M underneath, and within a circle on the back it says shockproof, unbreakable spring, Swiss made, stainless steel back, waterproof
The band is like stainless steel railway tracks and the bar connecting it to the case does not appear to have springs the way modern ones do.

Any information you can provide (model, year of manufacture, etc) would assist in understanding more about this piece of family history.

Kind regards,
David Wayne
Felca front

Hello.
I just purchased this West End Lowan pocket watch at the Bizarre here at Kandahar Air Field and was looking for an approximate age and value. It does say swiss made at the bottom edge of the face and the following numbers were printed, not stamped, inside the back cover. Q 5025 4924. As far as condition it has a haze of light scratches from use on the front and back and the plaiting is worn down to the brass on the chain ring.
Thank you for your help.

Hi, it doesn't look like an expensive item, say $50 tops...West end was a brand that was frequently sold in the Indian market, so it isn't surprising some of them are found floating around in Afghanistan. Judging from how the movement is put togther it looks like something made after 1965.

Hello,
It seems my story is an old story on this thread. I was given this Mathey-Tissot watch and attempts to research it myself have yielded next to no results. If there is any information someone can help me out with regarding age and value I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you

On the inside of the back plate it says:
Mathey-Tissot
Wadsworth
14K
T286630

and very lightly scratched in underneath is
H539M which looks as if done by hand

Presumably the dial says "Paul Breguette" rather than "Paul Berguette"?

If so, the watch is Swiss-made and was made by the Swiss watch company Ebel. The brand "Paul Breguette" was used by Ebel on watches made for the American market.

It's hard to tell much from your picture but this is probably a 17 jewel manual-wind ladies "cocktail" watch from the 50s or 60s.

As you guess the band is probably a replacement.

Thank you. I am sorry for the bad picture and the mispelling. I am clearly no expert ;) I would like to find a band that is closer to the original style. I haven't found any pictures online though of what that might look like. Do you have any suggestions for where I could look?

Hi:

I have a Bucherer ladies wrist watch, bought in Zurich.

It is oval shapped, it has a diamond, golden color bracelet.
In the back it says:

BUCHERER

STAINLESS STEEL BACK
WATER RESSISTANCE
980.677

I have never used and need to sell it, but don't know it's actual price.
If anybody knows it, please tell me.
Thanks a lot.

If it doesn't have gold or real diamonds, value is very very low, otherwise it'll be close to the value of the metal + diamonds.

With a steel back, the odds of it being worth much are low.

Hi, I need help identifying a wristwatch I recently acquired. It is a black face chronograph with 2 dials, no date. The face says B U T Suisse. It is 18K gold that is marked 18K .750 on the inside of the back outer case. I have attached a photo. The band is most likely a replaced band (spiedel) that is rose gold colored on the outside and stainless on the inside. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I figured the only value was the value of the gold but I was curious. Thank you.but suisse
