Wittnauer seems to be a prestige brand. I am novice with the watches but I am replying as I was looking for the same brand yesterday on the flee market. As it is recession many people are selling their luxury. One man was selling his collestion of wrist watches and I was interested with the golden platedt Wittenauer vintage from ~ 1960. The price was 200 euros (300 US$). I didn't buy it as I had no clue about the value and was not sure if it was an original or a replica.

Yeah, that's the trick. Mine's an automatic, had it serviced a few years ago and it's been keeping good time, but I haven't checked it that much. If you're interested send me a PM and we can figure it out so that both of us are comfortable with the arrangements.

Thought I'd bump this up to see if anyone has input on it's value.
Thanks

I don't think it's hugely valuable, It's a gold filled top/steel back. There is no gold value to it. Maybe $300 since it has the box & papers.
