I was sold a Geneve watch by a leading national retailer. It is a round face Geneve Classic with a diamond at the twelve mark. It has "quartz" under the hands on the face. But in small print at the very bottom on the face, in fonts so tiny you have to use a jewelers loop to see, it says "Japan Mvmt". I asked the retailer, and they said it was not counterfeit and referred me to 800/443-6383 saying this was Geneve Customer Service. When I called, it is just a watch repair & sales company, who told me that Geneve was just a generic name and not brand name. I want to turn in this retailer if it is indeed a counterfeit so other people cannot be taken advantage of. Please help!

It's a generic "brand" that seems to want to mislead you into thinking it is Swiss made.

I don't think anyone would bother to counterfeit such a name plate.
