Can any of you shed some light on the Election Brand? I have seen men's Grand Prix models (40's), a chrono and a few ladies watches but haven't found any history. Not sure if it's just my small 'sample' but wondered if it was a brand that used other watchmakers movements, etc. If it was a quality brand. I was offered a very nice looking piece but don't have the expertise to assess the quality of the movement and long term value. Thanks! |

It's a "miscellaneous Swiss" brand, they do have some pretty things on occasion, but don't pay too much. It's sort of obscure, so long term prospects for appreciation are not that great. |

thanks... I didn't see your answer in time and bought it anyway. I passed on the direct offer and bought eBay...glad I waited. Only had to pay $255. pearl dial, solid 18K, 39mm. Supposedly all orig (refinished). Pics attached

Dial is definitely refinished, can't go too wrong at $255 if it's running OK, but long term appeciation potential is low. |

Thanks. Runs great, looks great and at 39mm is a robust chunk of watch on the wrist. I really like the dial and numbers. I agree, not much return expected...but nice to have something that looks and works that good at $250 that I don't have to worry about wearing about with a clear conscience...not that I'd run a jack-hammer or split a cord of wood with it on! ![:-)](https://www.classicwatch.com/discus/clipart/happy.gif) |
