I have been handed down a 1920's, I think, 19ct gold watch by roga it's a womens bangle watch everythings in working order, it says it's Swiss made and it has 17 rubis written on it. I'm trying to find out how much it's worth and where I should sell it. I've never heard of roga before. I hope someone can help! |

What you can do is check the book "the complete price guide to watches" and see if it's listed in there. You may find out about Roga in general but not your specific model, but that's a start. Another thing you can do is go on eBay and do an advanced search for Roga and check off the box for completed listings only. This may give you an idea what eBayers are willing to pay for similar watches. Last resort is to check/join the Internet Horology Club- Chapter 185 of the NAWCC. I believe they have one section where they discuss pricing in general, as this was not allowed to be done on the NAWCC bulletin board due to a possible conflict of interest. If you are a member of the NAWCC, you can go to their discussion board, log in, and just check around to see if anyone can give you a relative value for the watch. They can't price them, but they often say things like "thats a nice watch and worth fixing" or "they sell at auction quite often so are not uncommom". The NAWCC, like this discussion board, is a great place to discuss horology and related ephemera. You won't get very far if you don't post a few clear pictures of the front, back, inside case back/hallmarks, and back of movement. This allows us to better identify the watch. Good Luck. Will |

Regarding the 1st response, above, Chapter 185 of the NAWCC no longer exists. The founder of that chapter, Lindell Riddle, was kicked out of NAWCC after being accused of what basically constitutes embezzlement. He now runs a website that is not connected with NAWCC in any way. Roga is one of the small Swiss brands that came and went, leaving little trace of its existence. There were thousands of these small makers that put their name on generic ebauch and were out of business shortly after. Value on these watches is basically limited to the gold melt value of the cases. |
