If in nice shape, we're selling Vulcain alarms in the $175-200 range if base metal top/steel back like you have. Subtract from that the cost of getiing it going and any restoration work it may need. Zaf |

I found a Pocket watch that is a key windup made by the American Watch Co. Inside back is Warranted, Trade No. 1 Mark, Coin Silver, P9220, does anyone have any information on this, the watch still runs. |

Very hard to say without knowing the movement size, the number of jewels and serial #. Anything from $75 on up, the key wind would likely place it in the 1800s. |

I just picked up a D'Orsay watch and wanted to find out about the manufacturer. I've checked several websites but don't see any reference to this make. It is a 25 jewel automatic with 14 k case. Ron Smyth |

Another generic Swiss nameplate, probably worth around $300 ... Zaf |

I found a Pocket Watch at auction last night. Descartes - 17 Jewel, Shockproof - no other words or insignia on the watch - In great shape, although the middle of the back has some of the coloring rubbed off. Just wondering how I can find out the value? |

Sounds like a generic 1940s or later pocket watch, probably not worth much. Zaf |

Any body knows about this swiss watch Junfrau, stainless steel back, and is working perfectly, the watch appears to be antique, and is a wrist watch. |

I found an old wrist watch in my grandmother's jewelry box when she died. I believe it is from the mid to late 30's. It has a squareish silver engraved case with a round face and a black string band. The face has the name Laco on it. Is there anywhere I can get more information on how to get it fixed? |

Laco is a German company, it does have some collectible models, mostly military and some mens models. Generally speaking, ladies models don't have much value unless it is something unusual or from one of the top 3-4 names, so unless there is sentimental value here, it porbably isn't worth getting into. My late husband has left me his stainless steel Breitling Top Time 2002. It is in reasonable condition with a leather strap. It doesn't look like much to me but could any of you experts advise me on its worth please? thank you |

Do you mean it is a modern Top time from 2002? If it is that recent a good measure is 35 to 50% of the current list price. |

Thank you for coming back Zaf. No it is not a modern Top Time from the year 2002 - sorry for not making that clear! He bought it in 1968 and 2002 is stamped on the back of the watch- build number? I had it cleaned up and the jeweller has given me a valuation of approx 3000 dollars which I find very difficult to believe but what do I know?? Please give me some guidance on this - thank you

There are many variations of the Top Time, the least desirable are the gold plated late 1960s style ones that have a "cushion" style case. Prices of these are more like $450-500. If you have a round all stainless steel one, with 3 sub dials, it may be as high as $900 to $1000. There are several toptimes in our subscription price guide service at: http://www.vintagewatchpriceguide.com/ |

My father has a Lucien Picard 14kt watch with a face made from a faux 10 dollar gold piece. The face is about 1.25" in diameter. It was purchased in the 1970's. He wants me to sell it on eBay, but I have no idea what it is worth. It needs a new band, but is in mint condition otherwise. Any suggestions as to worth? Thanks. |

If it is a "faux" coin, probably around $300 to $500. |

Gold pocket watch. Made in Ireland(?) Donegan V Wright. Case #1368. Chain drive movement. Open Face with key in working order: Dial inalyed in tri coloured gold and fashined in 18k(estimate by gold test). These are the words of a local jeweller who only states the facts. No guess as to value. Can you help?

I'm not sure, is it completely unmarked as to who made it? |

I think it's probably an OK brand for the money, but I would not expect any long term collectibilty or appreciation. |

Hi, I inherited a golden Ernest Borel wristwatch from my grandfather. On the face it says "Society" and on the back "stainless steel back automatic 366228 S 750311". It's been in my possession for over a year now. I don't wear it, but I always have it in my pocket like a good luck charm. I'm looking for information about this watch: when is it made and how much it was/is worth. Can anyone on this forum help me out please? Thank you |
