Since there are many ways to secure the back of a watch how do you expect an answer without any pictures of the watch (or even brand/model information)?

The watch opens from the front. The winding crown has a 2-part stem that snaps apart and can be pulled off. Then an air blower is used over the crown tube to pressurize the case and blow out the crystal. Then the movement exits out the front through the bezel opening.

Best to let a watchmaker open the case if you don't know what you're doing.
