have a 1936 elgin watch 17 jels serial # 36922331 w/no band. and i have a 1920;s windsor swiss w/an alluim band. that has a total of 43 sapphire on the case .

is it a smart idea to change the casings and put the elgin watch in the windsor case it does fit. or should i buy a vintage watch band the casing on the elgin is 10k gold fill.

If it is valuable in anyway, best to keep the movement and case together...if it's a low value watch then do anything you want. Whatever is most practical.
