I have been researching the Sandoz watch brand and I have to admit I'm confused. In addition to seeing vintage watches with Henry Sandoz, Henri Sandoz & Fils and just plain Sandoz on them... I have also found no less than four different companies currently manufacturing watches under the Sandoz name. Sandoz Watch Co. (Far East) Ltd. (Hong Kong) Raban Sandoz Watch Co. (Korea) Sandoz of Switzerland Sandoz - Grupo Munreco (Spain) Does anyone know the relationship between these different companies all using the Sandoz name? They all appear to claim that the watches have swiss movements. Are any of the companies descended from the original company or are they all just making watches under licence from the registered owner of the Sandoz name? |

According to the word on the street !! The Sandoz Family sold or licensed the name to Sandoz Hong Kong. However, it appears they did the same to Sandoz Singapore. The older Sandoz watches were made in switzerland by the Sandoz watch company. I have a nice little 25 Jewel Quickdate auto from that time frame. Now, what is being produced today I don't know. A far as Espana or Korea, I know nothing on that issue. |
