I would like your expert opinions on a pocket watch that I acquired in a recent trip to Shanghai, China. Details are at http://www.audio-genesis.com/pocketwatch.html This watch has a 9k gold case and in full working order, circa 1890. |

What a nice movement! Looks like you may have something there. Bovet specialized in watches made for the Chinese market. These tended to be highly ornate and with engraved movements as you have. "Fleurier" is the city in which Bovet was founded in 1832. They made watches for the Chinese market until the early 1900s when they where acquired by the "Leuba" brothers of Favre-Leuba fame. As to value, guessing, maybe in the $700 range. Zaf Zaf |
