I know there has been a lot of 'buzz' generated by these Planet Ocaen seamaters. But when I saw the big size chronograph with black dial, orange bezel and black rubber strap w/ orange stitching I went crazy. For the first time I'm seriously thinking about selling one or two of my 'icon' watches because I really don't feel like throwing down the $3-4grand to pick one up new or slightly used. My woman thinks I'm crazy for thinking about selling either my late 60s GMT Master [100% orig. and mint} or an older sea-dweller thats in nice shape but not mint. I also have a beautiful 1972 SS Submariner and a few other watches I think I could part with for this orange planet ocean. {I have an IWC portugse that Im pretty sure would give me even money on the Omega but that would be getting painful} So-just to throw this out to other watch-nuts who might understand how much OBSESSION plays into certain watches: Am I crazy? Should I just wait until the money isnt as big a deal? Or is a planet ocean going to be as 'classic' as a GMT. Sub, or any other beautiful mechanical timepiece out there? |

Yes, you are crazy But, as you say, it is an obsession. If you have to let go one of those, ask yourself: Which one have you not worn in a while? That may make it easier to decide. ... but I still think you are crazy. |
