I am an novice collector and a first time poster at this site. Does anyone know if there are Swiss Army Watches that instead of Stainless Steel, are made in Gold, including the bracelet band (gold filled, 14kt or 18kt)?
I have seen a model with a thin gold colored line around the bezel and a narrow gold "stripe" on the bracelet. However, I mean an ALL gold model (with a light face). Any information?

Those "Wenger" swiss army watches are usually quartz, and are sport watches at best. I have never seen an all gold one.......kind of scarey!
Why not step up to an Omega, or other fine sport watch, which are always available in all gold.

Hello Watch People and Thanks Mark K,
I got a good laugh out of your response to my gold Swiss Army watch query, Mark. You know as soon as I actually saw it in writing I did say to myself "yucchhhh" - this sounds horrible!

But this is the deal - I am looking for my first "good" watch and I was looking at my son's Swiss Army and I like the bold simplicity of the face, the roundness of dial, the large Arabic numerals, the bracelet style. I am a woman, by the way, with very angular, modern, yellow gold wedding rings and an all stainless watch isn't compatible. So all I could think of was something like a Swiss Army, but in gold!

I like the faces of the Nomos and Xemex (but I want a bracelet style watch) and I like the gold bezeled Movado Vizio. I like the look of the Ikepods, clean lines, the large face. I like the Cartiers but they are rather "busy" (and quite expensive for me). Maybe you can get a the picture of what I am interested in.

Doesn't have to be extra modern in style though, but with clarity of lines, boldness, simplicity, probably Arabic numerals - I need numerals or markers of some kind - no more blank faces for me. I no longer want to have to "figure out" what time it is. Preferably automatic. Preferably bracelet style. Possibly chronograph. Has to be at least some gold to be compatible with my rings. A large face, probably a man's watch, but not TOO mannish (and Omega's men's seem a bit too mannish). Need to be if not all- then most-occasion, work and dress.

I am NOT in the high-end market for a watch, as many of you good folks here! I cannot spend on a watch the amount one could spend on a car, or even a used car!

Too much to ask for? I hope not but I need some suggestions. Maybe about other watchmakers that may be more obscure - doesn't have to be a designer name. Or a good Previously Owned would even be fine. Is it possible to find what I want for LESS than a thousand dollars?

I must say, I am loving my watch search. I believe I'm a latent watch junky. I read the internet articles and the watch magazines and I am truly obsessed and already planning my next watch! Bracelet style this time, leather band the next (but if anybody thinks I should start now with a leather band watch, let me know). And I KNOW I've got the watch bug because I might even consider a wind up watch one day! There is no way I would EVER have considered anything but a quartz, let alone winding up a watch!

I hope this not an improper use of the message board - help with watch searching. And if so, let me know. I am new at all this. I certainly am not trying to use the Board to buy a watch, but I need suggestions. I am going crazy looking at so many watches on-line every day. If anyone has more detailed suggestions and would like to leave an email address, if that is permitted, please feel free.

Anyway,Thanks again Mike and Suggestions Anyone?
