Hello, I just came across a man's dress watch by Zenith. The watch is round, about 33mm across, has an automatic movement, gold textured dial, date window between the 4 and 5 hour markers, and has a back which is engraved with two seals with a star by their noses...and the words "Waterproof...seals twice" around the edge. The bottom of the case lugs are twice stamped with the Swiss gold mark for 18kt. The watch is in very nice condition and keeps great time. What would be a reasonable replacement value to declare for insurance purposes? Also, is it true that the Zenith brand is not sold in the U.S.? If so, how might that affect proper servicing, availability of parts etc.? Thanks! Dirik Lolkus |

Guessing, a reasonable replacement value would be around $5-600 (I'm assuming this is a 1960s watch). Most likely the movement is made by one of the big manufacturers such as ETA, so servicing should not be an issue. Zaf |

Zenith also built their own automatic movements, which are really nice! |
