Hi, All. I am not sophisticated in the world of wristwatches, so I need an opinion from the board: Recently, I have seen a number of watches on eBay made by Eric Edelhausen Legacy Timepieces (http://www.ericedelhausen.de). If anyone would comment on the company, quality of the watches, where they are made, etc., I would be most appreciative.

I know that there are people (on eBay) who sell items (that are practically worthless) at inflated prices, and I am attempting to protect myself and any others who may read this.

Thanks in advance for any responses,
Chris

Wow, there's a watch brand I haven't heard in years. I had one of those. Back in 1988-89 when I was stationed in Germany. I checked that web link and yeah, the one I had looked similar to one they're making now. Mine was probably a little smaller case and I don't remember it having a gilded movt...but it's a nice touch.
I would bet these guys are a boutique watch company. Not that that is bad, but they're probably happy making a limited # of watches per year with limited geographic distribution. As opposed to the mega watch companies that put their products in every watch shop and mass merchandizer around the world.
As far as inflated list prices VS selling price, heck we all know how that works. The Ebel I came here for info on is being offered at over 70% off and I'm sure the seller is still making plenty of money.

Thanks, Arne.

From what you remember, would you recommend buying an Edelhausen now? I am in the market for a good watch, but I am on a student's budget.

Thanks again,
Chris
