The watch is heavier than any I've seen. The face is white with gold at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 spots. The little hand is blue. The numerals are arabic. The ring around the face can be pulled off, as well as the back. The name at the top of the ring is "A Calderoni" and at the bottom is the word "Milano." I had written down the name on the face, but don't have it with me. Around the edge of the watch are Greek symbols that line up with the numbers on the face. On the back are female figures clad in drapes, and the numbers 19, 15, 20, 23 and 24 are interspersed among the designs. There is a bell that has very tiny letters on it's lower rim. They can be read only with a magnifying glass. The metal could almost pass for the color of gold but may well be brass. My father said he kept it because my aunt told him it is silver. I don't want to test it for fear of devaluing it. There's a small greenish tarnish spot on the back and the stem is missing. Anything anyone can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The name on the face of the watch is "marca depositata."

Hi...that wouldn't be the name. It means "Registered Tradmark". I think to have a shot at a valuation we'd need to know if it is in fact gold (check for stamping on the inside of the case), check to see if a name is engraved on the movement.

Zaf, there is no marking that would indicate it's gold. The name A Calderoni and Milano are engraved on the movement, as well as the number 1323856. I have scanned it and could e-mail you the pictures if you're interested.
