Hi all, I'm new to the forum. I think it looks like it could be a great resource. I'm looking to buy a Rolex Oyster with or w/o date function. So, I see the black dial oyster on the site, it seems like a great deal for the price. Another site wanted about 600 more for the same watch but ..perpetual. Does the date function really add that much to the price? Also, I'm wondering how well these watches will consistently keep time. I know they are renowned for being great watches, but buying one that is 20 years old or more has me worried. Can I expect to be able to wear it daily without having to have a watch like this serviced all of the time? That's about all my questions for now Thanks a lot for your help in advance. clockwork |

Wearing it daily should not be a problem. I still would not advise submerging it under water, just mild water exposure like dishes etc. The date probably adds a few hundred if it is from the same era, if it is a newer quickset model, a much more recent model it can be $600 more. In any event our watches are warranted for 90 days. |
