dear all, i contacted doxa about the watch that belonged to my grandfather asking for the exact year it was made. they told me that their archive was distroyed in 1960 and that the watch i described was made prior to this year. underneath number 12 it says DOXA anti-magnetique. and on the back it has the following numbers 965301. the watch is pretty simple. face of the watch is somewhat cream in colour, numbers and hands are gold in colour. instead of numbers 1,3,5,7,9 and 11 there are lines. does anyone have any information on this watch, or know where i can enquire about it? thank you in advance. |

I too have a similar watch, which was my father's. However the dial is a silver colour with all the even numbers and the odd number markers in gold. The words DOXA anti-magnetique are printed in black. On the outside edge of the dial is a segmented band in black, which is numbered in 5s for the seconds. In researching the internet I found the watch is similar to WWII Doxa watches, which has this feature for the seconds. I do remember my father wearing this watch in the mid 50s, he may have bought it late 40s to mid 50s when he was serving in the Merchant Navy. Prior to my research I sent a picture to Doxa in Switzerland who previously gave me the same information as yourself. However they did tell me the model of watch was a DOXA anti-magnetique, as per the dial. It would appear that this is used on many different styles through the years. Hope this helps |
