I just picked up a vintage wrist watch movement says General Watch Co., 2 adjustments, 7 jewels. porcel. face gold body blue numbers and swiss above the second hand. Any idea age, value etc. It runs for a short time I'm sure it just needs to be cleaned |

Hi. I'm not sure what this brand is, but a low jewel count like 7, would indicate a lower value watch. If it's like an enamel WWI era type thing, maybe $75 to $150 at the most if it isn't solid gold. |

General made movements for Rolex in the early 1900's, they made 15 jewel movements and actually put out some fine 14K gold writwatches. They also founded Helvetia at the turn of the century. They are not in business now. |

It's going to depend on how think the case gold is and what kind of movement is in there. If it's a paper thin type it will be $400-500 or so, if it's a thick gold type, up to $700-900 for the head, more for the bracelet. More if it has a high grade movement. I'm assuming this is a two register model with no further complications. |
