Hi, I just received my superb 1948 Omega Seamaster cal 332 bumper automatic watch for my 40th bthday. One simple question:is it by any chance waterproof? May be naive question but i still haven`t found out yet. Thanks |

I would not assume that the watch is waterproof, even if it was designed to be originally. Too much time has passed since the watch has been made. If you were to get water into the movement, the damage might not be able to be fixed. Parts are getting increasingly hard to find for these nice vintage models. Hope this helps, gatorcpa |

This is the vintage watch i was asking you about. I must confess I'm absolutely new in this line of fine design objects. I am fascinated about its background. I do believe it is 1948 and should correspond to the first ever Seamaster series produced. Unfortunately the back of the case is absolutely plain and inscription-free. Would like much more information concerning my vintage Omega Seamaster. Thank You. mcpalm

Seamasters of that time usually don't have engraving on the back. The dials on these watches are usually quite worn and poorly refinished. Your watch looks very nice and original. If the movement is as clean as the dial, it should be a stunner! I would suggest you register with the Omega Vintage Database at this website: http://www.omegawatches.com/cu_vintage/ It's free and without further obligation. You should be able to search for "332" under caliber/movements and it will bring up your watch. Good luck, gatorcpa |
