Is it possible to replace the stainless steel back of my Omega Genve with a windowed back (or whatever the correct term is)? According to the serial number guide posted on this site, it dates from the early '70s.

As an original part, I don't think so. The only option I see is: Take the back off and put a crystal in its place. Not very water resistant. But if you inisist on doing it, you have to do what you have to do. Make sure you keep the original back. Of course, you can loose the back, replace it with a plastic crystal and sell it on eBay as a "very rare salesman's sample" and make a lot of money. Just kidding of course, but generally, my advice is to keep any watch as original as possible. Zaf |
