It's an American market LeCoultre chrono, what makes you think it is a Cartier? The case has none of the characteristics of a Cartier Case. |

my father had lots of information on this watch and i will send you it if you like. Can you give me any idea about value. he was offered 100,000.00 pounds 5 years ago but he did not want money as it had a sentimental value. but he has passed away now and i was left it in his will. So can you help me find buyer or point me in right direction. |

My advice would be to take the 100,000 pounds and run to the bank with it next time you get an offer like that. This sounds like an auction piece as someone like myself would not be able to sell it unless it comes with a closet full of documentation and papers from Cartier. No one in my surroundings would pay even 1/10th of that. |

have you ever seen anything like this watch before. and can you tell me any information about it. i had given it to cartier in bond street in england and they had it for 7 months. i also spoke to bernard berger from cartier. but they wanted 1000 pounds to give cert for watch then they said they wont so i told him i was selling it as genuine cartier and if they had a problem he could take me to court over the watch he said he would not contradict that its a real cartier watch. Also the top men in Lacoultre had it as well. |

The Cartier print and the red numbers, to me, look like they were added after the dial was printed. They're much less sharp. All I can tell you is that it is an American Market watch. It was not sold in Europe. To me, selling such a thing at a high price is quasi impossible unless it has a factory authentification, and you won't get it because no one kept track of what went on in the American market. LeCoultre did not keep track of the movements they sent to the USA in terms of what they were cased in. So while it is possible it is real, you'll need to prove it. |

I seriously doubt Cartier had any involvement with the U.S. Army. The caliber 285 is made by Universal Geneve which itself is either made by or made under license from a compnay called Martell Watch. So the watch you have is a Universal Geneve, re-badged as a LeCoultre, re-badged as a Cartier. This same watch as Universal Geneve would be worth around $1500 and around $2000 as a LeCoultre. |

I can try to help you. I have connections mainly in Europe. There are plenty of people russians and other eastern europeans not to mention germans running around that will slap you a handfull of 1000 euro notes for that watch.if its really legit.all i need are a bunch of pics and information.from there i can start shooting emails.around the world in multiple languages.too bad it was not sold before.100k pounds was double that in dollars then |

I think I had a few too many budweiser in my belly and brain when i was looking at this watch before. Just checked out the rest, and it again. Looks like you got you a nice american market lecoultre chrono. I've had a few of those. The dial is suspicious though! |

No, I couldn't make anything out from the scans, they're too light. I probably would not have much to add anyway. |
