Hi. This is a first time post but I have been reading on this website for quite sometime now. I came across an auction on E-bay and I have never seen a Rolex without the crown on the dial. Is this a fake? The seller seems to think it's real.

Seems real to me. Appears to be a very early British market watch, perhaps around 1925 before the first Oyster, etc. The crown didn't come into play until later.

Rolex trademarked the "crown" (coronet) emblem on May 2, 1925. Even then, the crown emblem didn't start appearing on watch dials until 1939, about 15-20 years after that watch was made.

Okay. Fair enough. I originally saw this in the vintage costume jewelry category which make me think about it being a copy.
