Item number: 4959287249 is for sale on e-bay supposedly dug out of an attic by pickers. Do you think it is real?

Also, (4958002831)is being offered as a Vecheron Constantin. I noticed neither the dial nor movement contained Geneve. Fake?

Thanks

The Vacheron is definitely a fake. The Patek is probably a fake, only opening it up would verify for sure. It's best to buy this sort of thing and pay a little extra from a reputable source then end up with an expensive paper weight.

Now that they opened up the Patek, it seems real, and fetched a nice sum of money. Looks like the buyer is a dealer, so the watch will turn up somewhere eventually, but I would not have though it could happen so fast.

The same watch is for sale in the UK, on eBay (4962679891) with same text and pics. Although this time I think it's definitely a rip off. The seller has 0 feedback.

Beware of this new (?) trick. They offer genuine Pateks, not fakes, and cheat on delivery. I asked once if I could pick up this 15000 dollar Patek personally (would have been worth 30K), and got no reply. So, I didn't bid on it.

Cheers,
Mark

Suprising result on the Patek, the last one at Antiquorum April 2004, sold for 18000 Swiss Francs ($15000) and the several examples before that at half that in the $7000-8000 range.

I guess watchcommander knows something we don't.
