I just purchased this watch on ebay. Is it a real LeCoultre. On the back it reads 14K gold apex. |

The back unscrews, but DO NOT attempt to unscrew the back yourself without proper tools. This is a valuable watch and any scuffs to make on the case trying to open it will significantly lower the value. |

I thank you for the replys, the update is that,Im not sure where it was purchased it was in a box but i discovered that was not the box it came in,im sorry for the confusion I had it checked this morning by a qualified jewler,he had the tool to unscrew back told me it was Geniune as did the person who posted about it. he gave me a # that was on inside of cover which is 24053632227 and another number K831 which I was told is the caliber of the movement so Im hopeing that some one can tell me more about the watch, value and age thank you

Approximately 2,500 LeCoultre Quartermasters were made by LeCoultre. They were produced around 1957-1958, based upon the movement serial number of the 3 examples I've bought/sold in the last few years. Market value (all original) tends to be around $1,200-$1,500 in this depressed market. A few years ago, they were fetching a bit more. There's really nothing more to tell about the watch. |
