I found the following link while Googling about online watch scams. It has a list of suspected watch brands involved in scams.I don't know how much truthful is this information.I agreed with him in some respect but a detailed study and research is required about the watch scams as I found the names of some respected brand names too in this list.

There are many types of watch scams involved in watch industry. One is selling fake watches bearing the original or similar brand names of respected watch brands like .These guys fool customers by imitating the original designs and brand names owned by by the trade mark owners. We could not easily recognize these counterfeits from their looks , but an expert can identify the type and quality of materials used in the manufacturing. The only way to counter this scam is to buy watches from authorized dealers or distributors only.

Other type of scam recently observed mainly targets customers of online auction sites such as eBay and Ubid.com .Modus operandi of these culprits involves misleading customers by auctioning the watch models at eBay or other bid sites with much lesser cost than cost which is mentioned in their websites. For example A particular watch model is priced $5000 as per the information provided by website but sold at a rate below $500 or less at eBay.

After a detailed research I found that these watch brands claim a Swiss or German origin and marketing cheap Chinese made watches.I have gone through many such websites and found that the contact address of most of them leads to a single company based in USA.
