My wife got this watch from her mother who got it from her grandmother. I took it to a local jewelry store and they could tell me nothing about it other than it was 18k gold and wanted to know if I wanted to sell it for scrap. They also said it had been serviced a couple times. Im hoping some of you could help me out. It says MARTY on the dial. 17 jewels on the movement. Cant really ready anything else.

I'd scrap it. The movement is 1960s or later and was probably put in wheh the original failed. Or, If it is in fact a 1960s piece that is made to look older, either way it isn't valuable other than the gold.
