It's real but the dial has been refinished and the crown isn't original, everything about it looks restored to me. These are usually in poor condition as the case is not waterproof at all. It's not in the book as I've never managed to get a clean enough example.

It's the USA market gold filled moon phase that is fitted with a rectangular movement. The cal 486/AW.

Damn it! Should have bought it - although saying that, I do prefer unrestored watches even if the face has some patina on it.

On a slight tangent, I have two 1940's triple dates (P484A and P464A). One I have had very sympathetically restored (I kept some discolouring on the dial and left the hands original) but I have a problem with the other one.

I sent the case and winding stem off to a place in Birmingham (UK) and have seen not seen it since - the firm has vanished and there are lots of unhappy people. The point is I have no case!

Do you know anyone in the wide world who might have a case to fit? I am possibly open to trades - I own many futurematics!

Sorry I don't know of any cases that would accept it. Maybe look on eBay for a trashed example with a good case.
