I have a watch I bought in a small box of costume jewelry it says Illinois watch case co Elgin 14k inside the movement case. There are also faint inscriptions inside the case as well some numbers and some letters to faint to make out. the serial number is 624973. I cant find a serial number on the movement The movement says Vaco in the corner. fifteen jewels and langendorf switzerland. Im brand new to watch collecting and would like to know if this is a good peice to start with.

Well, as a watch it's trash, but if it is a 14k gold case, the case is treasure.
