Can anyone tell me if Waltham made the canteen style UDT wristwatch, the style that has the screw over crown with the chain ? I know Elgin and Hamilton make the canteen style , but never knew Waltham made them . I came across a Waltham type A-17 canteen style watch, has all the proper military markings on the back. I am considering buying it.

Isn't A-17 an airforce spec? Sounds suspicious.

I found out it was a A-17 watch converted to a canteen style . It was on ebay item#250059628055,
check it out, you won't believe your eyes on what it sold for !!! It's a neat looking watch, but I don't think I'd pay that much for something converted. thanks.

Ah, the joys of eBay. it only takes one bad deal to ruin 30 good ones.
