Hello, I'm new to vintage watches and bought this because it works and looks great. It was described as a 1928 Omega military watch, serial #6,840,202. Could you tell me any information about this watch? Thank you. |

It is NOT a military watch in the sense that a government did not issue timepieces of this type to their soldiers. It is a civilian watch. It dates to approximately 1922. |

Thank you very much. I saw that another topic in this forum is appraisals. The case is steel,it's in working condition, and as you see in the photos. Could you appraise it or do you need additional information? Thanks again. |

Sorry I do not know what model name this watch would have. Sometimes on the insides of the case back you will have some reference numbers, but usually on watches this early there are none. |

Follow up questions, please - the pieces that contain the watch, the top dial 'frame', the middle piece the stem is in, and the back, all appear to be chrome plated metal. I'm not concerned if it isn't authentic Omega fabrication (I love the watch regardless) but I wonder if I should try to repair the few worn spots to better maintain the watch. Thanks again. |

oops, forgot the other question. Any reason why the Greek letter omega isn't centered over the word "Omega"? It's over the 'e' and 'g'. Pure curiosity... thanks again. |

It looks like the dial was repainted at some point, and whomever did the work did not center it. |
