Hi Zaf: I trust you made it back from the show safely. I found this at the regional this past weekend and I am looking for a good replacement dial or where to send for re-finish, or your opinion if worth the cost verses loss of originality. Movement ser#6415089. enjoy photos and email with your opinion on value. Thanks everyone!Longines D 2413 Hmovement

A quick comment. I would consider having the dial cleaned first. I bet it would come up nice and still be original. Good Luck with that nice catch.

That dial looks shot. Not sure it's saveble.
What you can try, is ultrasonic it in 10-15
second intervals, letting thoroughly dry in
between.

That'll get rid of a top layer of crud, but
if you leave it too long it'll take out paint too.
Last one I had sold for about $650, but it was in
much better shape.

Best,
Zaf

As a follow up, that's one of the highest case serial numbers for that watch I have ever seen. Supposedly they made 1,000 but I do not think the guy who wrote that is accurate.

Maybe try removing that icky lume.
It can be done with a moist Q-Tip VERY VERY
gradually i.e. in layers. See what you get then.

Wow Jeff-
That tooth brush really helped a lot. What toothpaste did you use. :-)

Nice Job.

What is your budget? The best are German rediallers and by the time you ship both ways and redial, you maybe out $250. Not sure the watch will support that cost.

Can you name some of these German rediallers here on the forum Zaf ? I have an IWC which must have a redial, but my experience with rediallers so far is with a Omega "bulls eye" which came back looking like something cheap and crudely made. Costly job now just lying in a drawer, havent been able to look at it..

I have never used them, but they are either "Bethge" or "Causeman", Ilja, one of the moderators will know better than I.
