I would much like to get it repaired...seems to have stem problems, cracked domed crystal and perhaps find out more about the history. I do not think it was manufactured directly for US issue but rather acquired for military use but it does have US Ordanance markings. I will get some photos of it soon but let me describe it briefly. The front has a light silver background with prominent Arabic numbers, full sweep second hand, the hands and letters a greenish luminescent with black border, and "Waterproof " arched over the name "Helvetia". On the back imprinted in outer circle is "Non-magnetic, Waterproof, Shock Absorber" and on outer portion in circular is stamped "U.S. Army Ord. No. OH 95758". In the very center of the back in small script is "stainless steel back" beneath that "3190" and under that a "2". I recently noticed a 1940's vintage "Royale" Rolex model which looked very similar. I am an amateur WW2 collector and historian...have a few WW2 4X4 WC Dodge military vehicles that I have restored and acumulated related militaria thus the watch has a significant sentimental history for me. I would much appreciate any of your insight. Thanks, Roger C. ingoldsby Vermont | | | | |

Yes...on back around outer edge then similar US Army Ordnance OH marking but no DH...also has the "Non magnetic, Waterproof, Shock Absorber" imprinted inner ring. Also the face is completely different...as I indicated it has a light silver background, full sweep second hand with greenish luminescent hands and Arabic numbers. Will try to get photo downloaded. |

It's definitely a WWII ear issue watch, maybe of them were also captured from the Germans and have the ORD #s stamped on them side by side with the German DH markings. I can probably get it repaired for you, but I'm running a little backlog at the moment and the repair quote is by estimate. Complete verhauls usually run about $125 + parts. |

What would be the estimated time to get it repaired and is there any specific problem in getting this type of watch repaired? Also let me know your address for shipping purposes. Thanks |

If it is a Swiss made watch (like Helvetia), I'd expect DH markings for an issue watch. So I'd say yours is a civilian piece. |

Most likely It's a loose detente screw. You might able to fix it yourself! |
