I have inherited this watch from my dad . He told me he got it from a German prisoner for a carton of cigarettes when he was in the war. I don't know but I feel like it has so many different attributes about it I am confused as to the proper value of it.. I have read a little on the Schutzenfest award and a very little about the maker.. I just cannot find another watch like this online.. so I am at a loss .. could you please tell me what I have.. Pictures included..I would like to add, it runs 3 days without a rewind and the front and back opens out on a hinge.Runs Beautifully .. I have only wound it twice and my dad rarely wound it .. he said he didn't want to wear the mechanisms out .. he kept it put up and never used it.It looks as tho it could use a cleaning on the case but I am afraid of doing that until I know the proper way. Any information you can provide to me would be so appreciated.

No it's all the silver color..Has a Swiss cross on a shield, 2 rifles crossed some sort of person holding a staff a scenery in the background and leaves and branches ..A banner across the top that says Eidengenossisches Schutzenfest Glarus 1892. If you have any Idea how I can post the picture let me know..

I don't know about the picture, sorry...too many variables.
If it's just a carved scene (this is fairly common) and it is in fact a silver case, the watch is probably worth in my estimate $300-500.
It would be lower, but the movement in the watch looks to be of high quality. I'm not a pocket watch expert, so you may wish to seek a second opinion.

I'm not quiet sure what you mean by carved .. it looks like what you would see as embossed ? I tried again to post the extra pics .. only thing I can think to do is start a new thread and title it Part 2. perhaps they will post .. Also I neglected to mention that the ring around the outside of the watch looks gold as does the hinges and the winding mechanism.. If the watch is so common and I am not doubting you .. why then is it I can not find anything like it .. I have typed in everything I can to the browser and still can't come up with one near to it..
I thank you so much for all of your interest .. You mentioned a second opinion .. do you know of anyone I can ask ?

My guess would be around $500 then.
