A couple of things...given the condition it is in, as a collectible watch, it is not worth anything. Perhaps it has some value as a battlefield artifact.

Without any real markings there is no way to tell what army may have used the piece. It loongs like it's more of a personal use item rather than something that was formally issued. Can you tell which army the the buttons belong to?

Anyone know how to identify/translate markings on the back of a "Record" military watch? I know www and the arrow but do the serial numbers help to identify who wore the watch when it was made who it was issued to etc? mine says L11970 529817

What you have is a British Infantry "Wrist Watch Waterproof" W.W.W. in service from WWW to the early 1950s.

The serial #s will not help identify who wore the watch nor specifically how old it is.

Omega I have used this Omega watch for the last 48 years. Backplate is marked W.W.W., Broad Arrow, Y14973 then 10679178.
Can you help with the date of manufacture?

This model was made around 1945 up until about 1948.
