I recently acquired what appears to be a German presentation aviators pocket watch as shown in the attached photos. The reverse has a silhouette of what appears to be a Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor. The Dresden 8-9 May 1937 commemorates the Eastern front losses of that campaign date. Also the date corresponds with the commercial flights made by this aircraft before WW2 from about 1935. The overall diameter is 50mm, the case is steel and nickel plate with brass or bronze attachments. I wonder if anyone could suggest an approximate value and give any further information for this watch that is in excellent working and un-cleaned condition. The Movement number and Type seem to be correct for the date. Many thanks

This looks like a Russian made piece to me, usually what is called a "tourist" piece. I don't think it is Nazi in any way. At a minimum it is NOT an issue watch, i.e. it was not used by the military. |

Many thanks Zaf. I understand it would not have been issued to the military. Can you estimate if possible when it was likely to have been made for the tourist trade, i.e. if it was made to commemorate the 1937 Campaign in that era and not many years later. I do appreciate your help. |

It looks like a Russian/Soviet made piece to me. Not much value there. |

I hope you didn't spend too much for the watch. The movement, marked SU, stands for Soviet Union, a russian copy of the Cortebert, is correct for the '70s period, maybe later. The dial is horrible, the eagle even worse. Ask for your money back if still in time. |

Wonder why a "German" watch would have what appears to be a B-17 on it?? |
