I recently came across a Hamilton 987S wristwatch in exceptionally nice condition but the black dial was not signed with the usual "USN Buships", the Hamilton signature was present on the dial in black as it should have been. These watches are getting very scarce and I have only seen four or five in the last 25 years. Does anyone have any knowledge regarding the lasck of the USN on the dial. i do not want to purchase this watch if the dial has been replaced and I know there are a number of repro dials out there however I don't think they have the Hamilton signature.

I'm not as good with US military watches as I am with the Euro ones, but I would expect the BuShips on the dial for that model.
