Found this watch in my late mother in Law's garage, may have been her Husband (WW2 RAF). Wound it up and and away it ticked keeping good time, must have been stored away and not used for best part of 40+ years.
Please can anybody advise approx date/history etc., can we trace history details by info on rear case?
My wife would like to use daily as a tribute to her late Dad so we asked a watch repairer who quoted 250 for service and face restoration etc. Is it worth spending this amount or just leave as is?
Many thanks

It is an "Army Time Piece" hence the ATP. These watches are worth about $275-325 in very good condition, so the 250 GBP quote would not be a cost you'd recover. I'd leave it as it is. Restoring the dial would diminish its value any way.
